Ashley Kerr Story
July, 2003
Congratulations
to John and Ashley Kerr on their purchase of Baltic Aurin. Ashley has
great plans for Aurin's future as a hunter. Aurin shows great talent as
a jumper. Aurin has shown off her skills by jumping the four board fence
at 4' 5" as well as our 3' electric webbing. Ashley is thrilled with
her wonderful temperament. Ashley has started her beauty treatment with
a face trim and pulling her mane. There are plans to present her at the
Raleigh Breed Show in September.
The
name Aurin means, hidden gold. Aurin is going to be large and is a lot
of fun to have around.
She is an exceptionally
kind and trusting filly. She loves being groomed. It's fun to introduce
her to new things. Too bad there is not video of first time she saw snow.
Seeing her trot around in the snow showed off her future movement. She
will be a show stopper. As a weanling she loved to jump over bushes. She
still does!
Aurin
comes from great heritage. Aurin's dam Extra Lucky is a very sweet
broodmare. Extra Lucky's sire Elektron
was exported to Germany where he won the Hamburg Derby in 1980. Imported
to the USA by Ellin Dixon, he placed second in the USDF Grand Prix Horse
of the Year standings in 1983 and was listed for the 1984 Olympic Games.
Aurin's sire L.A. Baltic Sundance is known
for his temperament, talent and trainability. Sundance definitely passes
these qualities on to his offspring. Sundance is competing at the F.E.I.
Level. He has won numerous awards like his sire L.A.
Baltic Sun.
Aurin
wins two year old division at Pinehurst Breed Show May16, 2004. Ashley
reports, "Aurin did well today. She placed first in her first hunter
breed show in the two year old division. It was so hot and hectic that
these were the only pictures that were really taken besides the video.
She behaved quite well a tad vocal but pretty calm. The picture of her
with her ribbon is not my favorite, but was the only one with the blue
ribbon. We will probably take a break until after the baby and then go
to a few more this summer".
