This picture of Flare was taken at the PVDA Breed Show in August 2002. He has really matured since then and is going great under saddle. Laurie has nicknames him Flare Bear, because she say's he is so cuddlysolarFlare

(update 3/10/03) "My 3 yr old, Solar Flare, out of a Quarter Horse mare. The mare is a 14.3 hand, foundation-bred QH. As of December, Flare was 15.3 hands and still growing -- he also looks a whole lot like Sundance. Flare is very willing, happy go lucky, cooperative, etc. People have commented on how calm he acts. He likes to stand and watch all the activity - typical tourist. Loves new things. I took him on a trail ride shortly after I started him under saddle. He went right to the front of the pack and lead the way the whole ride, never spooked, crossed right through the water. It was not, however, the first time he had been on the trails, I started taking him along on ride when he was 3 months old. I'm very pleased with the progress we've made so far. Now if the weather would just cooperative, I'd actually get to ride him again." - Laurie

July 17, 2003 updated pictures of Solar Flare.

Solar Flare is definitely showing talent in jumping. Laurie is having so much fun with Solar.  Juanita L Hayes who ownes Solar Flare's dam, Get Tender, is so impressed with Solar that she has rebred Tender for a 2004 foal.  Laurie and Juanita are excited about Solar's up coming brother or sister.
